    TEMPLATE

    A reusable pattern that helps you place information quickly and efficiently on a Web page.

     

    HOME PAGE

    The main page on a Web site which contains general information about the site, such as an introduction and a list of the other available pages; generally the first page a visitor sees.

     

     

    HOVER BUTTON

    A navigation button that changes appearance when touched by a mouse pointer.

     

     

    SANS SERIF

    A font that does not have special adornment at the end of letters or numbers.

    HYPERLINK

    A way to link Web pages together and allow users to move from one online location to another.  A link may consist of text or a graphic.

     

     

    MARQUEE

    A marquee is a string of text that slides from one edge of the page to the other, much like a tickertape.  You can create marquee text that slides in once and then stays put, repeats a specified number of times, or continuously repeats.

     

     

     

     

    PREPARING FOR A CAREER IN WEB DESIGN

    To qualify for an entry-level job in Web design, you should have graphic design experience and basic knowledge of Web design tools and languages such as HTML, DHTML, and XML.  Successful designers work well as part of a team.  Many colleges and technical schools offer certification and degree programs in Web design or related fields.
