Born Gerald Miguel Riviera on July 4, 1943 in New York City to Hispanic-American Parents. He has been a Talk show host and investigative reporter since the early 1970s. He reported for ABC News and highly rated shows on Elvis Presley and Al Capone. He started his own talk show call Geraldo in 1987, which ran for 11 years. In 1997 Rivera signed a six-year, $30 million contract with NBC, but left in 2001 to join the Fox News Channel as a war reporter in Afghanistan.
