Jessica Marie Alba was born in Pomona, California in April 28, 1981. Her father, Mark Alba, who is Mexican American, was an Air Force Officer. Jessica and her family moved to Biloxi Mississippi, when she was an infant. Three years later they returned back to California. As a kid, Jessica was in love with the idea of been an actress. She took her first acting class at age 12, signed to an agent 9 months later. Her first feature film debut was in 1993 in the comedy "Camp Nowhere". The marked the start of her world wind roller coaster. Every since that movie she has appeared in numerous commercials, shows and some box office hit movies like; Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Good Luck Chuck, Honey, Into the Blue and Sin City...just to name a few. But its not all about the fame for her. Jessica has said once that "There is always an unspoken problem about casting Latina actresses. I have heard Jennifer Lopez talk about how it was for her, always being up for the role of the Latina chick." With Actresses like Jenifer Lopez and Jessica Alba, their breaking barriers for other Latino women to be taking seriously and live out their dream. "In 2005 Alba offered her acting talents for free, to raise money for AIDS charity Amfar at the Cannes Film Festival. The Industry had held a benefit for the US research foundation. Alba's charity work includes participation with Clothes Off Our Back, Habitat for Humanity, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Project HOME, RADD, Revlon Run/Walk for Women, SOS Children Villages, Soles4Souls, and Step up.^[85] Alba openly endorsed and supported Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama during the 2008 primary season."
