Right handed pitcher Pedro Martinez was born on October,25,1971 in Manoguayabo, Dominican Republic. Pedro was first signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1988. After playing in the minor leagues for a few years he was finally called up to pitch in the majors. As a 5'11 and 193 pound man you couldn't picture him being a power pitcher, but he was. It was very cool for him because he played with his older brother Ramon Martinez. But he was shortly traded to the Montreal Expos. The dodgers Manger thought That Pedro couldn't pitch at the major league level because of his size. In 1997 Pedro had a record of 17-8. With free agency coming Pedro was traded to Boston for Carl Pavano and Tony Armas, Jr. That year he was being paid 6yrs 75million dollars. 6 seasons Later the Boston Redsoxs won there first world series. A couple years he was signed with the New York Mets have played bad off of Rotator cuff surgery. It looked like his career was over. After Being don With New York. Pedro signed a 1yr deal with the Philadelphia Phillies
