Hispanic Heritage Month is the celebration of independence for Latin American Countries which began in September 1981.

Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15 and ends October 15. We celebrate this month because it was an annual proclamation.

 

Countries

The countries that became independent were Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Mexico. Soon after they became independent, Mexico, Chile and Belize were also independent.
