Our Famous Influences From the Past

Black History Month is a month dedicated to remembering all the great African American figures of our past and present. From slavery, to the Civil Rights Movement and up until now, we have had many prominent black figures in our history.

Over our history, a great number of African-American figures have risen to the call and been an inspiration for many of us. Here are two of them:

Ray Charles Robinson
Known more popularly as Ray Charles, he was one of the pioneers in the genre of soul music during the 1950s by fusing multiple music styles in his earlier recordings.

George Washington Carver

George Washington Carver was an American scientist. He is most well known for advocating and his innovations toward peanuts and sweet potatoes.
