We
celebrate Black History Month to honor all of our African
American ancestors achievements that made our communities what
they are today. In, 1976 Black History Mouth was created.
Black History Month goes back to the beginning of the 20th
Century. NAACP leader and legendary historian and educator
Carter G. Woodson founded "Black History Week," which was
expanded to Black History Month.
We also celebrate our ancestors that
helped free slaves and helped bring black and whites closer
together.
Other
countries around the world, including Canada
and the United Kingdom, also devote a month
to celebrating black history.
