to other business routes as a result of their musical success.
These individuals usually go into a business that caters to the same
audience as their music. The product or service they manage
usually relates to the same culture that they are accustomed to.
Russell Simmons is the first hip-hop entrepreneur. He inspired
everyone who started in the music business and branched out to other
ventures. Most of these business are clothing lines. Hip Hop
entrepreneurs are a major influence on the African American culture.
The majority of black youth listen to these artists that start their own
business. The youth admire the individuals and are inspired by
their music. Also they relate to them and therefore are instilled
with ambitions and dreams set by these entrepreneurs. Hip Hop
entrepreneurs played a major role in modern black history.
