Born July 22, 1941 in Kannapolis, North Carolina. He basically revolutionized R&B during the '70s, twisting soul music into funk by adding influences from Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, and Sly Stone. Parliament Funkadelic ruled black music during the 1970s. George Clinton has about ten solo albums, albums with the groups Parliament and Funkadelic, and has even written the theme songs for some shows.
