Ruby lives in New Orleans. She is a travel agent, she is also a parent
of four. She was awarded for Presidential
Citizens Medal. She have a elementary school named after
her in Alameda, California. |

she is the first African- American child to attend
William Frantz Elementary School (
all white school). She showed a lot of courage
entering this school. She never cried.
She just marched along like a little soldier
and showed no fear. |

As soon as she got to the school, white parents went in and took their
child out. Only one teacher
would teach her and that was Barbara Henry.
The first day of school she spent the whole day in the principal's
office. |
